Online DSW Curriculum

Curriculum Details

42 total credits required

The curriculum for the online DSW program at the University of Kentucky consists of 42 credits and can be completed in two to three years. Students can choose from four concentrations to fit their interests and career goals. Our concentrations provide students with the specialized knowledge and expertise to excel in a competitive job market and make the most of forecasted growth within the social work profession. Students will work one-on-one with an experienced faculty mentor based on their concentration selection.

Our DSW program utilizes an innovative Core Plus model that offers students a flexible, affordable, and efficient way to earn their degree. Courses are taught online through asynchronous models with the exception of residency week during the summer which is taught synchronously. The Core Plus approach offers flexibility, allowing learners to progress through the program at their own pace, while the cohort model and Residency Week foster support via concentrated time with classmates and faculty. This curriculum also includes Residency Week, a virtual event that fosters strong relationships with classmates and faculty. This program is designed for working practitioners and can be completed 100% online with courses offered through asynchronous models designed to accommodate students’ work-life schedule demands.
