Transfer credits and prior learning assessment options can help you make the most of work you have already completed, which may reduce the number of courses you need to graduate. For the UK online MSW program, up to 25% of coursework can be transferred from other accredited institutions. However, transferred credits can only be accepted from a CSWE-accredited institution and must meet the requirements set by the Graduate School.

Social Work Program Max Transfer Credits
- BASW: 67 credits from a two-year institution. However, students must complete at least 30 credit hours at the University of Kentucky.
- MSW: 15 credits for Regular Standing and 9 credits for Advanced Standing.
- DSW: 9 credits with Program Director review and approval.
